Security is a feeling of certainty that everything is OK, and that all your basic needs will be provided for. It is listed at the base of the Maslow's triangle.
If one doesn't feel secure one cannot move into the higher levels like love and self-actualization. Feeling secure is different from being secure. Merely being secure is offering in-sufficient if the other person doesn't feel secure.
In reality, we don't feel safe much of the time and then lack of safety and security becomes a major trigger for most of the fear that dwells within us.
Many of your decisions affect your sense of security. For some people security means having a steady job with a good income. For many others security involves emotional security like trusting in a relationship or feeling secure in one's own body.
When one learns to make conscious choices mindfully, he can create a more positive and secure life at both professional and personal levels.
Certain things you can follow to feel secure are :
a. Reach out to others.
b. Practise mindfulness.
d. Have your emotional needs met.
e. Stop comparing your selves to others.
f. Identify and adjust negative core beliefs.
g. Recognise and celebrate your strengths.
h. Take good care of your mental health by practising Meditation.
i. Develop S.M.A.R.T Goals.
j. Forgive yourselves and others.
k. Find things to be grateful for.
l. Always remember only money, cannot give you security.
