HEALTHY DIET AND REGIMEN

A man being the creation of God, is born healthy and strong. It is only when the nature’s rhythms and cycles are upset that his system looses its natural capacity to function in the most ideal way that it should by default.

The only way in which one can maintain an idealistic life and living is by trying to follow an appropriate diet and regimen which is most balanced and keeps the mind and body in tune with the external environment in which he/she is surviving.

Disorders and ailments set in when body’s natural processes are strained and impaired due to physical and moral imbalance.

But as rightly said, ‘’Prevention of disease is better than cure’’.

This statement should be considered of utmost importance and value and should be followed in every person’s life to get a disease free and stress free environment.

Now how do we go about following this statement in a practical way….?

For this we need to consider/acknowledge the factors of key importance in our life which actually contributes to our well being and the most important of these key factors are our Diet and Regimen.

DIET

it includes/is the intake of energy in the form of food.

It not only gives us the energy to survive but also supplies our body with the nutrients required by it for the normal functioning of all the systems of our body.

REGIMEN

are the rules that we set for ourselves which includes

  • Our FOOD HABITS

  • Our SLEEP patterns

  • Exercise and Physical Activity

  • Other lifestyle parameters to some extent.

Both DIET AND REGIMEN are equally responsible for maintaining the internal and external milieu for smooth functioning.

HEALTHY DIET PARAMETERS

    1) Acknowledging and respecting the vibrations in the food.

▴ Food as the giver of life (like God)

▴ Unless food is respected and consumed, the nutrients in food will not have as much result as they could have give if the food was eaten with a positive and welcoming mood.

▴ Fresh food and nourishing food rejuvenates the body and gives positive energy.

▴ Stale and decayed food takes away the energy from the body.

    2) Eating a colorful diet which caters to all the nutrients of your body.

    3) Mindful eating (eating with pure senses)

▴ The ‘’WHAT’’ of mindful eating

▴ The ‘’HOW’’ of mindful eating

    ▴ The ‘WHY’of mindful eating

    4) Redesigning your diet

    5) Avoiding Junk food

▴ Ie: Engineered food and why it is addictive

▴ How your mind power can overcome it

HEALTHY REGIMEN

Again this starts with analyzing ourselves and comparing it with the ideal parameters one needs to follow, realizing where we falter, why we falter and redesigning a plan.

Considering physical activity in the form of

  • A workout plan

  • House activities

  • Walking

  • Outdoor activities

  • Getting enrolled for outdoor games

In case of a person with sedentary lifestyle who goes and needs to sit in office for 8 hours with commuting time may not get extra time for physical activity and majority people have diseases in this bracket.

How do you overcome this…?

  • Be active in office and try not to be confined to one chair whole day.

  • Try to walk few kilometers while going to or coming back from work.

  • Climb floors of one’s own building to keep up the stamina and calories burning.

In case of housewives….which is another large bracket of our society, where they are mostly engrossed in household matters and are also prone to increased stress levels.

  • Indulge themselves in fixed and timed daily walks, Gym

  • Time management ( prioritize their work schedule and devote a fixed time for their physical activity)

  • Keep themselves Stress-free ( because stress is the maintaining factor in any disease).

Nowadays kids are also more prone to an activity deficient lifestyle due to the lifestyle and school/study pressure.

As compared to olden days where an average kid was exposed to a good amount of physical exertion/playing for at least 3-4 hrs a day, now this is reduced by 70-80%.

Kids have become more Digi-savvy and want to indulge into various screens ( TV, iPad , mobile) most of the time.

  • Parents need to encourage them for more outdoor playing.

  • Time management needs to be inculcated so that they can balance their studies and play time.

  • Enroll them into different kinds of extracurricular activities depending upon their hobbies and interests
